Sligo Rovers vs. Shamrock Rovers EA Sports Cup match report

Sligo Rovers were 2-1 winners over Shamrock Rovers tonight at the Showgrounds. A goal from Garry Twigg was cancelled out by two goals from the former Shamrock Rovers man Pardraig Amond.
Twigg scored his goal mid-way threw the half. The Shamrock Rovers fans were still cellabrating when Amond was teed up by Richie Ryan and slotted home camly.
Just a couple of minutes after the secon half  kicked Off, with many fans still returning to their seats after the half-time intervell Paraig Amond was played thew on goals and had no hesitation when he put the ball past Allan Manus and into the net.
After this goal Sligo Rovers seamed to get deaper and deaper as Shamrock Rovers realy started to get a foot hold in the game. The game cotinued in this fashion for the rest of the second half and it was to be honest no suprise to sea that Shamrock Rovers had the ball in the back of the net only for it to be ruled offside.
Rovers did manage to sea the rest of the game out though and the Jinx Avenue faithfull stayed for over half an hour after the game chearing Rovers on.

Rovers will now face Monaghen in the final of the EA Sports Cup after Monaghen Utd beat Dundalk with a goal from Cathal O'Connor four minutes from time turned out to be the winner.

The final will be played on the 25th of September with the venue to be decieded.
