New bid expected for Amond

Sligo Rovers are expecting Portugese club Pacos Ferreira to return with a second bid for in-form striker Padraig Amond. Rovers have already rejected an initial bid of  €30,000 for the striker but feel that this is far bellow their valuation of the player. They feel Amond is worth a six figure sum.
Manager Paul Cook has said that if Ferreira offer enough money Amond will go.
In an interview Cook has already said "I think they have offered €30,000 for him, which with the best will in the world is not going to change the club. We're going to loose a striker who has scored alot of goals -and we only get €30,000? Of course we don't want to sell him. We are not trying to toute him around. Gerry Carr (ass. manager) has confirmed that the Bit-o-Red were aware that Amond was atracting alot of attention from Portugal and elswhere. In brighter news the Carlow native has said that "this is only the start for this team.". Amond has already stated that he wishes to stay at the Showgrounds and as long as he stays and keeps scoring for fun then Rovers have a real chance of qualifying for Euurope!
