Rovers make their first move of the transfer market

After weeks of speculation Sligo Rovers have today anounced that Jason McGuinness has today signed for the club. The former Boheimians and Shamrock Rovers man has signed a one year deal with the club.

In the 2009 season McGuinness was fined and banned after he was found to have racialy abused Romould Boco so there is sure to be a divide in what many fans think on his signing although there is no doubting his quality. Cook has also consulted Boco on the situation and he has no problem with McGuinness signing for the club (Boco is currently in negotiations with the club). Jason has won the League of Ireland twice with Bohemians and also the Setanta Cup last year so he is sure to bring a wealth of experience to the side.

This takes the number of players signed for next season to thirteen. These players are:
Ciaran Kelly
Alan Keane
Gavin Peers
Derek Foran
Iarfhliath Davoren
Danny Ventre
John Russell
Richie Ryan
Joseph Ndo
John Dillon
Eoin Doyle
Matthew Blinkhorn
Jason McGuinness.
